this autumn/winter I have been very lucky to work and live in istanbul for a few months, thanks to the kunststiftung nrw.

during my time in the city I met nadir sönmez, an amazing actor, playwright, director and a multidisciplinary artist based in istanbul. you can find his latest feature film "but" on mubi as well.

despite being situated to differently and our different practices we found a lot of collective ideas in our discussions about mental health, masculinity, vulnerability and sexuality in art.

outside of his public work he published very personal and intimate "love letters to farid" on his instagram account and their intimacy, almost to a voyeuristic degree, fascinated and moved me right away.
in our regular meetings we decided to do an intimate reading concert and for a few weeks I tried to write music underlaying those intense emotions.

it was my first time working as the sole musician in a interdisciplinary project and we really hope to continue to work more together in the next years.

so here's a little ep of 4 of the tracks from that project to give you an idea of my time in istanbul.
they are strongly connected to my own emotions regarding limerence and being obsessed with the idea of a romanticized and unrealistic future.

the last track is a produced/edited version of "circular movement", an unreleased track from the week-long livestream project by my quintet "theconsistencyofdestruction" in october 2021 in poland.
